The HAMS cheerleading program is open to children residing within the Hempfield School District.  Registration is due by April 19, 2008.  Tryouts for each squad to be scheduled in April.    Cheerleading and performing during halftime at football games is the number one priority for all squads in HAMS. Competitions (which take place in November for A, B & C) are part of the program, but not the primary focus.

CHEERLEADING ELIGIBILITY

A Squad – 7^th & 8^th Graders

B Squad – 5^th & 6^th Graders

C Squad – 3^rd and 4^th Graders

D Squad – 3^rd and 4^th Graders

The A and B Squads will accommodate up to 25 cheerleaders each and the C and D Squads up to 20 each. 

UNIFORM

HAMS will supply a sweater, vest and skirt for each participant’s use.  These items must be returned at the end of the season.  Each participant will need to purchase the following items:

Sneakers as designated by HAMS

Body suit as designated by HAMS

Black wind pants as designated by HAMS

Black boy-cut shorts as designated by HAMS

Socks as designated by HAMS

Hair ribbon, barrette, etc. as designated by HAMS

Uniforms are to be worn for Red Rose League Games and competition events ONLY.  DO NOT wear your uniform (or any part of it) to school or high school football games without permission of the Board of Directors

Uniforms are to be washed only when visibly necessary.  When necessary, wash the vest and skirt on the gentle cycle and drip dry.  DO NOT PUT THE UNIFORM IN THE DRYER!

DO NOT WASH SWEATERS – THEY ARE DRY CLEAN ONLY!!!.
